The company was founded by Pete and Karen Scudder out of a tiny Prunedale, CA garage in 1982. Today, Scudder Roofing is an award-winning operation with a world-class reputation for roofing craftsmanship, stellar customer care, and a tight-knit team dedicated to the company and its mission, vision, and values.
Under the direction of Pete Scudder, CEO, and founder, along with his COO daughter Jennifer Scudder, the roofing company has seen substantial growth over its 40 years on the Peninsula and is ranked as a Northern California powerhouse in the roofing industry. Pete also founded a sister company, Scudder Solar Electrical Energy Systems, in 2007. Pete Scudder grew up in Walnut Creek and started roofing during the mid-seventies for C.L. Frost, then Williams Roofing, and he has never looked back. After all, running a successful roofing company and staying in business through good times and bad, including recessions and a catastrophic pandemic, is certainly no small feat.
